Focused but never in focus / PART II – About copyright

Here you have some of the simplest rules that I use during collaborations etc :

  • The photographer’s name must always be mentioned when a image is being used.  The obligation to indicate the photographer follow by copyright law and is in the photograper’s moral copyright to the image.
  • You must not take another’s image and use it for self-publishing, then you break the law.

I have seen too many people / companies use others pictures without mentioning the photographer. You can see it everywhere, Instagram, Tumblr, Facebook, Blogs, barbershop etc. If you don’t
ask for permission, it can easily happen that you one day will receive a bill as a ”thank you
for using my photos without my knowledge”or even worse (depends of course,) find yourself being sued.

If you are a public person, I think it’s your responsibility to learn about the Copyright laws.
Think like this, ”how would you react if you saw someone use pictures of you
for commercial use, but you don’t get any cred or money?”

Here you have some examples when people have used my images without crediting me.
