This is me, Ida Zander. I’m the person behind this website, the one that creates every
quote, picture and video. This website is my fantasy world, in here I can create whatever I want,
whenever I want. I want to discover the world, meet new people, enjoy the sunset and spend my
life on the open road. Photography is my greatest passion but there are so many other things that
keeps me motivated and focused. I’m that person that have so many things on my mind.
But I’m not going to write a book today. In fact, I’m not even going to talk about what’s on my
mind or who I am. This is about something else, it’s about my reality. I’m talking about
everything behind the scenes, how much I’m sacrificing and how much work I put in things
that I sometimes don’t get cred for. This is just because we forget who’s behind the camera.
You know, it can easily happen that you have to work for free, but that’s not the problem
as long as I can use it for my portfolio or if it can take me further. And no, I’m not talking
about wedding photos, I’m talking about big collaborations and work that gives me experience
and the opportunity to use it in the future. Why should I work for free if I even can’t
use it for my portfolio? It might sound a bit harsh but you have to read between the lines and try
to understand. I have so much to sacrifice for the future, even though I’ve already sacrificed so
much, but that’s what I have to do and it doesn’t bother me. But.. you know, since I’m sacrificing
so much, I deserve cred for all the time and work I put in my work, you know what I mean?
I can’t even count with my ten fingers how many times companies have used my photos without
my permission or even with my knowledge. Since I’m doing collaboration with models and bloggers
the companies ask them to use the pictures for their instagram etc, and they’re always good at
tagging the models in the photos, so why don’t they have the time to put my name there as well?
I’m actually the person that creates the photos, edit them and put a lot of time into
something that they don’t seem to give a sh*t about. When it comes to me, I always make sure
that the model in the photo gets tagged everywhere, and that they tag me as well!
(thank you my lovely models for that, you ROCK!) If it’s not such a big problem for me or the
people I collaborate with, why is it so hard for the companies? Shouldn’t they know better?
I know that I can’t be the only photographer, illustrator, editor, hairstylist,
make up artist etc etc that sometimes don’t get cred for the work that we actually do.
Let’s not take that sh*t anymore!
Haha , btw… thank you my lovely roommate Victoria for this crazy out of focus picture!
